CLIMATE : The temperature undergoes little seasonal fluctuation due to the sea. Humidity is often is very high. Temperature ranges between 19°C to 34°C. Rainfall between June and September average 216 cm.

The earlier business district of Ballard Estate have given way to Nariman Point in South Mumbai and more recently to the new business districts, which have come up in Bandra Kurla complex and Lower Parel areas, which are being built on redeveloped textile mills' land.
